MARK YOUR CALENDARS 📌 Youth basketball tryouts for boys and girls entering grades 3–6 will be held over two weekends at Little Miami Middle School. We are holding tryouts a little earlier this year to allow additional time for uniform ordering, delivery, and distribution before the season begins. 📅 Weekend 1: Skills & Assessments August 22–23 Players will participate in skill evaluations and assessments. 📅 Weekend 2: Callbacks (Invitation Only) August 29–30 Selected players will be invited back for the second round of evaluations. It was a successful first session at the men’s Basketball 101 Skills Academy last night, where over 50 of our youth players attended and interacted with high school players and coaches! The next session is this Thursday, May 7th at 6pm. We will be posting off-season training opportunities as we come across them. 🏀 Basketball Training – Goshen Area 🏀 My name is Jerry Settelmayer, President of Goshen Youth Basketball for the past 10 years with 20+ years of coaching experience, including AAU and high school. Training focuses on ball handling, footwork, finishing, and 1-on-1 situations. Sessions are located in Goshen and open to grades 1–12. I’ve had the opportunity to work with athletes from Milford, Kings, Little Miami, Lynchburg, Blanchester, Goshen, and CNE. Training will begin mid to late March. Message me for details. Good evening! We have non-voting and/or voting board member opportunities opening up for next season. We are looking to fill these positions in the next few weeks as the season wraps up. Here are a few notes/high level expectations of a board member: -Attend and participate in Board Meetings -Help plan and participate in player evaluation process for athletic and High Rec teams -Help plan and participate in preseason administrative duties and scheduling -Be available to help open and close gyms on the weekends once games start on Saturday's and Sunday's (the C Gym takes 2 members to manually pull out the bleachers) -Observe practices when needed -Gym Monitor when needed, especially multiple hours during the 2 tournament weekends that we host -Participate in any other duties needed to run the program throughout the year We are looking for candidates that can commit to a minimum of 3 years on the board for continuity. If you were unable to pick up your shooting shirt tonight, you can pick it up at the middle school tomorrow, 12/20, between 9:00am and 4:00pm. The student working the gate will have the list of those we have left, along with the shirts. He will not be able to answer any questions, so please direct any questions here or to our email. **Reminder- if you ordered a shooting shirt after 12/2, we do not have it yet. We will let you know when we get a status update on those orders.***
Shooting shirts from the first round of orders are in! They can be picked up at the elementary school main gym entrance tomorrow, 12/19, from 5:45pm-6:45pm. Parents or coaches are welcome to pickup your individual or team shirts. ***If you are picking up for a team, please have a list of names of those you are picking up.***

We also want to be clear that we are a totally separate organization from the Middle School and High School Basketball programs. Their processes and communications are completely different from ours. We don't have any role in their tryout process, nor do they handle our registration process. Registration for 2nd-6th Grade Rec will close for the season on Saturday, 10/11 at 7:00 pm. We will begin building teams and selecting coaches throughout the 7-10 days following. Reminder on team formation, spelled out at the top of the registration form: Rec Team Formation Note: This year’s 4th-6th Grade Rec teams will be grandfathered in our previous process, spelled out on our website, lmyba.com. Rec teams will be randomly selected. Based on the number of teams we need after registration completes, we will select Head Coaches. Those coaches will have the opportunity to name their Asst Coach and their children will be on the same team. Everyone else will be randomly selected. We aren't going to continue to respond to every email we receive for requests that are outside of this process. For Athletic and High Rec teams, we have finalized all Head Coaches and we will be sending them their team roster and contact information Friday evening - Saturday morning for them to reach out. You can visit LMYBA.com during that week to register your child for rec. ***IMPORTANT*** Uniform samples will be available to try on Saturday, 9/26, from 12pm-4pm, and Sunday, 9/27, from 3:15pm-7pm in the middle school cafeteria. If you didn’t make it in last weekend to try on uniforms, please make time for that this weekend. It will be extremely difficult to change sizes once uniforms and numbers are assigned for the season, so it’s important to register with the correct size. Thank you!
